Baby ends up in hospital after parents fed her vegan diet

A couple was arrested on charges of mistreating a child after allegedly feeding their baby a vegan diet until she ended up in a hospital, police in Italy said.

Pisa police said that the 11-month-old girl is being treated for severe malnutrition at a hospital in Florence.

Blood tests revealed that the baby was severely malnourished and the hospital informed the police after learning that the parents fed her a vegan diet.

Investigators said that they are still trying to determine whether the baby’s malnutrition is connected to the vegan diet.

Police are also investigating the child’s pediatrician if she knew about the vegan diet. The 30-year-old parents could face charges of mistreating a child.

Toon was found guilty of committing an indecent act in a public place, and was sentenced to 80 hours of community service. Toon admitted to looking at 27 adult websites on a school computer during a lunch break, but argued that it was not a public place. However, the judge disagreed, saying that anyone could have entered the room. Toon was immediately suspended and he later resigned. Toon was also accused of rape, but police did not file charges due to insufficient evidence.
