(Scroll down for video) A woman was issued a warning after she was caught trying to sell newborn baby rabbits as food on Craigslist, police in Wisconsin said.

Pleasant Prairie Police said that the Department of Natural Resources was able to save the 8 baby rabbits after receiving complaint from concerned citizens who saw the ad on Craigslist.

According to the police investigation, the rabbits were listed for sale at $10 each, with a suggestion that they could be used as food for other animals.

The Department of Natural Resource was able to track down the woman on Monday morning, and went to her home in order to seize the rabbits.

The woman said that she found the animals in her backyard. It is illegal to sell wild animals. No legal action was taken against the woman as she did not realize that her action was against the law.

The rabbits are in good condition.

They were taken to a rehabilitation center for wildlife, where they will be kept until they are ready to be released back into the wild.
