A 6-year-old girl was taken into police custody after they suspected that her passport was forged.

The girl was taken by border police at the Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, France, after arriving from Cameroon, Attorney Sidonie Leoue said.

Police insisted that the police were doing their job to protect children from trafficking.

The girl was traveling as an unaccompanied minor and she had all the necessary documents, Leoue said.

Her mother was waiting at the airport to greet her in Paris.

Border police thought that the girl did not look like the girl in the passport photo and suspected it was a fake, according to the Interior Ministry.

The girl, who was born in Paris, was brought before a judge, who asked the girl to identify his mother who was sitting in the courtroom, the lawyer said.

The girl was then shown pictures of her teacher and her classmates, and was and asked to identify them. Only after doing so successfully did the judge order her to be handed over to the mother.
